Arxada appoints Maëlys Castella as Audit Committee Chair and Board Member

Castella brings deep industry experience and governance expertise to enhance Arxada’s financial oversight and strategic direction.

Basel, Switzerland – January 8, 2025 – Arxada, a global leader in innovative specialty chemistries and solutions, announces the appointment of Maëlys Castella as Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Castella, a seasoned finance and business leader, brings extensive experience from her tenure at AkzoNobel, a global leader in paints, coatings, and chemicals. As Group CFO and later Chief Corporate Development Officer, she was instrumental in driving financial strategy, operational efficiency, and corporate transformation. Her leadership at AkzoNobel equipped her with deep industry knowledge, expertise in navigating complex global markets, and a proven ability to enhance governance structures. This experience directly aligns with Arxada’s focus on financial discipline and strategic growth, further strengthening the Audit Committee’s oversight capabilities.

In addition to her role at Arxada, Castella serves as an independent director as Chair of the Audit Committee for BIC Group and member of the remuneration committee, Chair of the Audit Committee for C&A and Member of the Audit Committee for UCB. She is also the founder and CEO of Aminona Consulting, offering strategic advisory and executive coaching to leaders and entrepreneurs.

Castella holds a Master’s in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale Paris, and is an ICF-certified executive coach.

Castella's exceptional leadership and extensive experience will play a key role in supporting Arxada’s governance and strategic ambitions.
